Orthotics

Orthotics optimize the shock absorbency at heel strike and and power production with pushing off when walking and running. This optimization and corrective alignment of the lower limb can alleviate several painful conditions of the foot, knee and hip, such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, morton’s neuroma and patellar femoral syndrome. Orthotics can greatly improve your comfort when standing and your performance for many activities such as downhill and cross-country skiing, cycling and getting lost hiking in the woods (just because you are lost, doesn’t mean your legs have to be sore).

Orthotics with a Plastazote top sheet cover are available and ideal for people with diabetes or neuropathies of the feet to improve circulation in the foot and mitigate pressure sores.

Keystone Health’s orthotics can be constructed for specific footwear and sport applications such as downhill and cross-country ski boots, running shoes, hockey states and golf shoes.

Please bring any specific footwear that you would like your orthotics to fit and some well worn shoes that you use (to examine the tread wear pattern) with you for your appointment.

Orthotics are covered by most insurance plans.
